Grove Group, market leader in the hire and sale of relocatable buildings, is expanding its Queensland operations with the purchase of a free-standing office building at Lakes Vista Office Park, North Lakes. The $2.215 million deal negotiated by Lakes Vista sales manager, Nick Cavanagh and Excel Development Group's general manager commercial Rod Colwell, has triggered a start next week on construction of Stage 2 of the $55 million development.

The building will have two levels totaling 561sq m of office space given a 4-star rating under the National Australian Built Environmental Ratings Scheme. Grove Group managing director Stephen Grove said Lakes Vista was a clear choice for the company's new Queensland headquarters. "Lakes Vista has set a new benchmark for corporate accommodation on Brisbane's northside so it made good business sense to secure a building in this major growth corridor," he said. "The IT platform and proximity to the Brisbane Airport and CBD was also a huge plus."

Located at 2 Flinders Pde, Lakes Vista will have 12 individually designed office buildings totaling 13,500sq m with 4-star NABERS rating, secure underground car parking, world-class IT facilities and onsite cafe surrounded by natural parklands. Mr Cavanagh said North Lakes was gaining momentum with a range of companies and government departments seeking a presence. He said retail giants Bunnings and Costco and the Department of Education and Training had recently secured lots in the commercial centre. "This has sparked further interest from companies looking for an alternative to high cost metro locations," he said. "We are now over 50 per cent sold or leased in Stages 1 and 2, with a further 20 per cent under negotiation."
