Two Liquefied Natural Gas Projects worth 20 billion dollars have been given the green light in Central Queensland sparking an unprecedented boom time for Rockhampton and the region.

According to reports in The Morning Bulletin these projects will inject billions of dollars into the local economy.  It is estimated that up to 10,000 construction jobs will be created which promises a strong boost to house values in Rockhampton and Gracemere.

Rick Palmer, Rockhampton Regional Council’s economic development manager predicts great job opportunities and a ‘super-cycle' of economic growth Rockhampton had never seen the likes of previously.  ‘Rockhampton is a mature and sophisticated economy that can absorb an increase in population at short notice,’ he said.

Rockhampton Acting Mayor Rose Swadling said the city was ready to welcome an influx of new residents.  ‘Gracemere and South Rockhampton are well positioned to cater for any resident overflow from Gladstone,’ she said.

With the announcement of construction commencing at Gracemere Shopping World which will include a major supermarket and 23 specialty shops Gracemere Heights is without doubt, the best positioned property hot spot in the region.

Gracemere Heights Sales Manager, Julie Colwell has been inundated with enquiries since the news was published in the media. ‘We have over 40 houses currently under construction with investors and home owners now calling in to secure well priced land and house and land packages before the boom really kicks in and it’s too late,’ she said.

Excel Development Group have spent years researching and developing quality communities in Central Queensland including the coastal acreage estate, Tanby Heights in Yeppoon and two residential developments in Biloela; Highland Reserve and Panorama Heights.

Director, Peter Sherrie said these new natural gas projects as well as the strong mining operations already in place will ensure impressive growth in the region for decades to come. ‘Rockhampton and Yeppoon are ready with solid infrastructure in place and a great lifestyle to offer new families and workers,’ he said.
